Worksafe NZ issued the following “Cylinder Alert Notice” to the industry in December 2016, highlighting worldwide issues with certain cylinders in current circulation:
As a result New Zealand Underwater issued the following letter to all associated Cylinder Testing and Cylinder filling facilities:
Therefore, Auckland Scuba is no longer able to test or fill cylinders that fall in to the above mentioned categories. If you are unsure whether these regulations apply to your cylinder(s) then please bring them in to our store for verification or telephone to discuss – 09 4782814.
We understand the inconvenience this presents to many of our customers and hope that you all understand the necessity of this process in order to maintain both your safety and that of our staff during the filling process.
We will work with you to provide short term solutions with deals on hiring our cylinders and also providing longer term arrangements with replacement cylinders.
